Surviving the attack

Recently we were all preparing for the hurricane and making sure that we have all our necessities in place and even calling and checking up on others. The more news coverage we hear the more preparation takes place….If the news anchor say the storm is coming toward us you go out and get more supplies….If the news anchor say it is going the opposite way you relax and go your merry way and we will go back and forth until this storm passes.

I would say that we are flexible and ready to maneuver depending on the projected outcome….

Why is it any different when it comes to our spiritual lives being under attack?

  • Read Ezekiel 28 just in case you have forgotten about your adversary, he stood next to God’s throne….he can no longer hold that position BECAUSE IT BELONGS TO YOU - you know he is mad...right!?

  • Ladies if you know a female did not care for you would you not watch her like a hawk….she best not come near my husband…….JUST LIKE THE STORM WE WATCHING HER TO SEE WHAT HER NEXT MOVE IS SO THAT WE CAN COUNTER HER ATTACK

  • For the men….it is the same as the linebacker watching the offensive guard….cause usually wherever the offensive guard goes.. the ball could go….( he is a shield of protection to the quarterback and runningback)...in order for the linebacker to make the tackle he needs to go through the offensive guard....

IT IS CALLED STRATEGIZING (Survive the Attack)

Why is it that we can develop a clear strategy for everything else but when the enemy comes to our door and start knocking?

This storm did not catch us by surprise...it came during hurricane season.

The offensive guard will not catch my big guy by surprise he has practiced his strategy over and over.

The reason we are downtrodden and defeated is because we do not have a strategy and then the enemy comes at us with every possible attack and we do not know what to do….because we did not prepare. Those seasons where everything seemed to be going good….YALL THAT WAS YOUR PREP TIME and you did not use it wisely.

But God...He has sustained us regardless.

Try these 4 simple strategies based on Psalms 5:1-8:

  1. HIDE, take refuge in the Lord through prayer (5:1-3).

  2. MAKE A SERIOUS OR URGENT REQUEST, appeal to God as the righteous Judge (5:4-6).

  3. GET CLOSER TO GOD, reverently draw near to God by His grace (5:7)

  4. DIRECTION, pray for the Lord to keep you on the righteous path (5:8).

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

HOW DIFFERENT WOULD WE BE IF WE UNDERSTOOD the lack of power of the adversary?
